Thunderbird is my life. Thunderbird's faculty is world-class. If you want to learn global leadership and management, there is nowhere better than Thunderbird.
The incredibly diverse faculty has solid academic credentials as well as practical, real-world experience. What sets T-birds apart is what we refer to as the Thunderbird Mystique. We are group of global citizens who are naturally curious about other cultures and languages, who thrive in fluid and uncertain environments, and who want to solve global problems by leveraging our incredible alumni network.
Being at Thunderbird and learning how to communicate with people coming from a wide variety of cultures, a wide variety of perspectives has been extremely helpful to me every single day.
What truly makes the Thunderbird spirit is the desire to make the world a better place. To use business as a force of good. To help society and the world more broadly. This global mindset, this sense of Thunderbird Mystique, has helped me make better investment decisions by being able to better evaluate the characteristics and the human behind the [startup] founder that I talk to. Thunderbird in one word to me is accepting. It's accepting of a global community, of cultures, of the way people do business differently, they live their lives, they celebrate, and they innovate.
This is a great program because you get to do your undergraduate and do masters classes at the same time. It allows you to save money and graduate a lot faster from your masters program. I was a leader in the military and I wanted to continue to be one outside and Thunderbird was the best option for that. Being a Thunderbird feels amazing. You feel like part of the world and you feel like you really can make an impact.
I feel supported by the people here— not just the staff, but the teachers and my classmates. The way the degree is structured is very practical.
You are already in a setting where you are working with peers, which is the nature your will have in a workplace". This program is very unique because every time that we are together in a meeting in a group project it looks like as if it were a mini UN reunion, because there are so many nations together. I graduated in Italy with the idea of building a food business back in Senegal and here I am at the most prestigious global management school in the world, studying global business and taking classes that are putting me on the right track to realize that dream of mine.
Being a Thunderbird SHARE Fellow means that you have the connections that are necessary for you to enhance your career development to the next stage. I've never seen this kind of fellowship in any other institution or university.
I am really grateful and honored to be given such an opportunity to be part of this community-no its not a community, its a family to me. Thunderbird is empowering us hispanics to say: You can dream. You can actually have that dream. Make it a reality. And you can be a business owner. The DreamBuilder program has given me the tools I needed to grow my business in a more planned and systematic way, and it has given me a lot more confidence by introducing me to other women who are in my same situation.
The DreamBuilder program helped open my eyes and empower me to feel confident that I could grow my business and succeed in supporting my family and my community. Diversity is important in a learning institution because it ignites innovation. The two organizations really are so aligned and I see us doing so much more in the future and really truly growing Arizona's global prominence.
