At the end, one person will be left without a spoon and they are out. One spoon is taken away, and the game begins again until only one winner remains. The overall winner gets great glory and riches. The first person gives you a choice of things. You have to vote on it, and the thing that you don't vote gets 'deleted' from the world forever. The thing you do keep then gets compared to another thing by the next person.
For example, one person says 'sugar or video games,' and everybody has to vote on if you would rather live in a world without sugar or without video games. Once something is voted out, it doesn't exist in the world any more.
Keep going until you have created a really weird world. They then stick it to the forehead of another player, so that that person can't see it but everyone else can. The aim of the game is to find out whose name is attached to your forehead. If the answer is yes, you can ask another. If it's no, it's the next player's turn. The first person to read the other person's word is the winner. This usually results in my students spinning around in a circle and trying wrestling moves on each other.
Most are blank, but one will have an M or something to identify the 'murderer'. A person is killed when the murderer makes eye contact and winks. The more dramatic and drawn out the death the better. It also gives us an excuse to do and request others do ridiculous, hilarious, embarrassing and outrageous things.
Truth or dare is probably the most iconic party game other than spin the bottle. We all know how the game works. If the person chooses to answer a truth question, absolute honesty is required.
Or, if they pass, they have to complete a dare of the askers choice. Then, once the dare task is completed, they get to ask anyone else either a truth or a dare. The game should be extremely fun. Just remember, I think we all know injuries and police showing up is a definite buzz kill.
The best part is, even if someone remains secretive and silent, you get to ask them to do ridiculous dares. Even a small reward can get your friends more interested in the Awkward Question Game. People tend to try their hardest and get more involved to achieve a goal. Make the questions beforehand. Even good people sometimes get carried away when playing games. Sometimes this can lead to someone's feelings getting hurt.
To prevent questions from getting out of hand, you can write up the questions you will use for the game on slips of paper before you play. These can then be drawn out of a hat, paper bag, or laid face down and mixed up on the table where each can be selected.
Picking a slip of paper would be the same as being asked a question. To make your friends feel included, you might all come up with the questions together. This way no one is surprised by the questions, but no one knows which question they'll be asked. You can include a few "Wildcard" slips with your questions. When a person draws a wildcard, she can ask anyone any appropriate question she wants. How do I pass a question without making it seem like I'm saying yes to it, or denying it?
